Tech Trump Cards-
My findings
Since the creation of Tech Trump Cards, I have spoken to many awesome people in the Microsoft industry/community and it saddens me that some don't feel that they are worthy of a spotlight.

Some have said:
-
That their stats wouldn't look too great
-
That they haven't been in the tech industry for long
-
That they aren't an MVP
-
That they aren't technical or don't actually build apps in this industry
-
That they can't think of interesting or funny answers for the mini-interview

The Tech Trump Cards exist as a fun way to shine a spotlight on the amazing people in the community and the Microsoft industry. They aren't supposed to be seen as a competitive platform for those who are seen as being at the top of their game.
Tech Trump Cards are for the benefit of the person being interviewed, but ALSO for the community. With every new Tech Trump Card, is a new opportunity to learn about someone who may inspire you, may be able to help with learning, may be able to become a mentor, a new bestie, or bring you new and exciting opportunities. It's not actually a game. It's just framed in a fun way. It's more of a collection. Like Pokemon or Football cards with a Top Trump twist. People can 'Favourite' the blog posts and 'collect' them that way or 'Save' the LinkedIn posts, so that they can refer back to them when the need arises, such as if you need to collaborate on a project or contact someone who is SME for the topic you need help on etc.
Everyone has something of value to bring to the community, no matter how long they have been doing what they do, how funny they are, whether they are MVPs or not, or whether they are experienced with building solutions.

-
There are more males than females in the collection so far, and I'd like to level out the numbers.
-
I would like to shine a spotlight on more young people who are in the industry/community.
-
I would also like to shine a spotlight on the awesome people who specialise in other areas in the Microsoft community, Recruitment, HR, UI/UX Design, Change management, Trainers etc.
-
It would be great to have Microsoft employees involved also.
-
I would also love to hear more inspiring career change, mental health, and accessibility stories if possible.
I would love for the community to help me achieve any of the above goals if you can. Let's work together to bring everyone and their fantastic skills to the forefront and to expand our networks. Pop me a message on LinkedIn!

I have also made some more changes to the Tech Trump Cards and related blog posts. Version 3 has now been introduced, and things such as the 'stats' have been removed and replaced with fun facts instead. I wanted to do this to reduce any anxiety people may get when they get involved.
