Hello everyone!
Thank you for joining me for the release of the next Tech Trump Card!
We have another impressive lady! ARETI ILES!
I met Areti at the D365PPUG in Reading at the start of 2023 during Elena Baeva's session-how to inspire, attract and nurture more women in the D365 community- which can be read about here.
I piped up towards the end of the session about Tech Trump Cards and how they could possibly help to promote and spotlight the fab ladies in the Microsoft Tech industry and Areti immediately added me on LinkedIn and soon after signed up for a Tech Trump Card. I was pleased to find out that she had heard about the Tech Trump Cards before and she was lovely enough to come up to me and introduce herself. I immediately knew that she was someone Id like to know better, so I'm over the moon that she has taken part in this initiative.
I am extremely happy to have finally come to Areti on the list.
So I will stop rambling on and will let you get on and read through Areti's mini-interview below.
ARETI! ladies and gents!
Hey Areti,
So tell me...
What's a typical day look like for you?
It is either a visit to a client site full of team meetings or a day working from home full of Teams meetings. Either way, coffee is involved and lots of solutionising!
What is your favourite Microsoft 365/Power Platform/Dynamics 365 app or feature, and why?
The platform has amazing capabilities that only get better with time - I like to think my favourite app/feature hasn't been created yet.
What do you love most about working in the tech/Microsoft industry?
The fact that nothing ever stays the same, from the tech itself to the projects and teams I get to work with.
How did you get into the tech/Microsoft industry?
My first job was in IT support for a company that grew by acquisition - a few years later for one of the businesses they acquired I was responsible for introducing Dynamics 365 to manage that business and the rest, as they say, is history.
What single bit of advice would you give a newbie to the tech/Microsoft industry?
Don't be intimidated by the sheer size of the platform - take it a bit at a time, and focus on the bits you love, no one knows it all!
If you had an autobiography, what would you title it?
What a Load of Balloney.
Name one hobby or other interest you have outside of tech.
Photography.
Name one thing that you would like to have achieved within the next 5 years.
The art of inner peace.
Do you have any role models within the tech/Microsoft industry? If so, could you name a few?
Nope - because for me a 'role model' means someone who I want to be like/aspire to be the same as - of course, there is an endless list of people who I look up to that do incredible things I could never do, but I am on my own path and they are on theirs.
Are there any sites that you would like to share with the community?
Is there a little note that you would like to add for the community?
I'm here to help, from techy stuff to relationship advice, so ping me and let's talk!
Great answers! Thanks Areti!
I like how to-the-point Areti is with her answers. She seems to be a huge fan of the ever-changing industry and possibilities...and happy to support others. So if you ever have any questions, do seek her out!
There you have it!
That's it for this week. I hope to have a few more Tech Trump Cards released over the coming month. It may not be a weekly occurrence, as I have some other exciting Tech Trump Card-related activities being developed as we speak. But there are definitely more to come.
If you know of anyone who would be great to add to this initiative or you yourself would like to be included, do point them in the direction of the Tech Trump Card site page >> Tech Trump Cards | Webb Side Story (laurawebbportfolio.wixsite.com)
The process starts when you/they click on the 'Want one?' tab.
Well, thanks all!! See you soon!
