Hi Thomas, so tell me….

What's a typical day look like for you?

Day to day I manage a great team of consultants withing Dynamics / Power Platform, that push me every day to learn new things, and adopt as a person. I also am still heavily involved in delivering projects, where I am Jack of all trades. I implement, architect, envision, support you name it. As long as it involves what I call CRM I will do it! I don’t like to focus on only one piece of the tech, because I want to see how they all work together in order to create a better harmony for the end user.

What is your favourite power platform/dynamics feature and why?

Lately I have been looking into Omnichannel, and I was really impressed with the speech to text features for Norwegian. Because it has sentiment analysis I have to say that that it’s the coolest feature ATM. I’m also a bit “weak” for the real time marketing triggers that are cool😊

What do you love most about working in this industry?

I love how everything is hard, but not so hard that you can’t do it. As long as you dare to ask questions, people will help you out. Just be kind and you will find someone that can help you over the hurdle in front of you!

How did you get into the tech industry?

Started with computer support when I was 16 years old. After that I guess technology was just always a part of me. Tried several times to get out of it, but I always fall back to the things that I know best !

What do you think are the top 3 most important skills/qualities to have in this industry?

Being able to listen to what the customer wants, and at the same time relate. If you cant listen and relate in combination, you don’t understand what they are going through. You must be curious and dare to try before asking. You never learn unless you try to do things you haven’t done before. Just make sure you have a safety net if you fail. Say NO to customers when they start on about requirements that don’t make sense. Inform them about how the technology works, and don’t’ give them the cart blanche when designing requirements.

What single bit of advice would you give a newbie to the industry?

Find a company that needs you. Don’t waste your time being in a company that looks cool on the CV. When you are important you will be involved in more projects, and the people around you actually care if you show up for work. Often you will find that these companies is the best place to learn new things.

If you had an autobiography, what would you title it?

No idea! haha

Name one hobby or other interest you have outside of tech?

I have been a semi professional soccer player for some time, so would definitely have to say that it’s an interest of mine! I love anything that involves team sports really. Being in motion is what I enjoy the most, and being able to win a competition.

Name one thing that you would like to have achieved within the next 5 years.

I want to be responsible for a TOP SECRET product that I want to develop for Microsoft. If you hear me Charles lamanna, I have an idea I need to pitch for you 😉 Other than that I would like to talk at a HUGE event like Ignite about anything Dynamics that I love to talk about.

Do you have any role models or people that really inspire you within the industry?

There are sooooo many people that it’s really impossible to say only one. It’s the sum of the people out there that inspire me to work harder every day to produce more content. Everyone sees the technology from different angles, and it’s just amazing to be part of the community❤

Great answers, thanks Thomas!!
